Last week, we received our official FIRST team number, team #23817. I've talked with the team members to come up with some team name suggestions. I'm keeping a running list of their suggestions; we'll vote on the names next week to pick the final team name. At last night's meeting, we did gain a couple of new members, which means the team is officially full for the 2023 season.
The FTC game kickoff is this Saturday at 9 a.m. If your team member is available this Saturday, please join us at 8:45 a.m. in the robotics room (the same room we've been meeting in) so we can watch the game reveal together as a team. After the reveal video, we'll start to review the game requirements, scoring, and robot restrictions until 11 a.m., when we'll wrap up for the day. If you can't make it or can't stay for the whole time, that's OK. The reveal will be streamed on the FIRST FTC YouTube account at https://www.youtube.com/@FIRSTTechChallenge/featured A parent/guardian doesn't need to stay, but you are more than welcome to. We'll be joined possibly by the High School and the Spring Grove Elementary School FTC teams. If you are willing to bring some goodies for the kids to eat that morning, please let me know (donuts, conchas, muffins, etc.).
Please discuss with your team members that cell phones are to be put away for the duration of our working sessions. This has been occurring and has become a distraction to the team.
