Fall Community Team:
FIRST Lego League
In the fall of 2022, we launched our first season of FIRST Lego League (FLL). This program is run by a group of high school volunteers. Each season our program has grown and in recent years we have built the resources to take our students to competitions.
Fall Community Team:
FIRST Tech Challenge
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a similar program to FLL. Run by high school mentors but geared towards middle school-aged students. Last fall we hosted our first FTC Pinnacles Scrimmage!

American Rocketry Challenge
Our American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) team, known as Midnight Moon, research, design, and build rockets. With each launch the team improves on their strategy and design, and SBR has been able to host launch events of our own!
Partnership with HESD
Summer Classes
Every summer since 2023 we have partnered with the Hollister Elementary School District to hold a robotics class for the summer school attendees. This program has allowed us to bring robotics to students who may not otherwise be able to take these courses, along with providing employment to local high school students.

Independent
Summer Classes
Each summer we host weeklong robotics classes. The summer class is a great introduction to Lego robotics and many students will learn the foundational skills which can be transferred to our fall community team.
Partnership with Youth Alliance
Soldering Workshop
In the summer of 2024 we partnered with the Youth Alliance to host a soldering workshop, taught by board member Jon Wade. This class received high interest which has enabled us to hold an independent electrical engineering class coming summer 2025...

Partnership with Migrant Program
Summer Class
Each summer we also partner with the Migrant Program to teach a crash course version of our summer robotics programs. We look forward to working with many more students each summer.
Partnership with HESD
Full Academic Year Robotics Class
In the 2023-2024 academic school year we had the opportunity to partner with the Hollister Elementary School District to teach a class at Maze Middle School. Along with the FLL robotics we've taught in other programs, we were able to bring innovation projects and other engineering units to the classroom.
